　　the opt evaluation modules (optevms) areplatforms for evaluating the performance of the optlight sensors.texas instruments has multiple familiesof light sensor parts. each of these parts is a lightsensor integrated circuit (lc) with a digital output andworks with the l2c protocol; making the device anexcellent choice for many applications. the optevmis a platform for evaluating the performance of themultiple light sensor lc under various conditions. theoptevm consists of two pcbs. the first pcb isthe optmb evm board that communicates with thecomputer, provides power, and sends and receivesappropriate digital signals. the second pcb is theoptcb coupon board, which contains the light sensoric for evaluation and support circuitry.

　　introduction

　　this user's guide describes the characteristics, operation, and use of the opt light sensor evaluation modules(optevm),. the user's auide details how to set up and confiaure the software and hardware, and reviewsvarious aspects of the program operation. throughout this document, the terms evaluation board, evaluationmodule, and evm are synonymous with the opt light sensor evm (optevm). this document also includes anelectrical schematic, printed circuit board (pcb) layout drawings, and a parts list for the evm.
